This place opened in August 2008 under ownership of a fantastic chef/, James Duckett who seems to have worked everywhere! He serves delicious and inexpensive tapas at lunch and his three course dinners compare with anything you'll find in London and at a fraction of the price. This place should put Barnstaple on the food map of the South West at last. All of the dishes are prepared from fresh local produce, the service is excellent and the restaurant is housed in a an historic 17th century building which has been nicely renovated. Go there - you will not be disappointed.

This is an excellent resturant by any standard, by far the best in North Devon and I have been to a most other well know places. Had a very good fish soup followed by sea bass with a crab risotto. Truly delicious and nothing I would manage to trow together at home.
